Throughout my time in Mr. Skeels' Civic Duty and Community Awareness class, I learned a lot about people's responsibility in society and about society as a whole. I learned about smart cities, voting, and local government, just to name a few. My time in the class also involved quite a bit of community service work. In class, I volunteered time at the middle school on a few occasions, as well as at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center at the long term care facility. Out of class, I did more at the long term care facility, along with helping at a varsity wrestling tournament and running the Blazer Cave selling Kalkaska branded apparel during a home basketball game.
